My name is Jane. I live in Hanmer Springs with my husband, our daughter and our wee Beastie. We have been here since 2019, teaching my own dedicated sessions since roughly 2022 when our then local teacher left the village.

My journey with yoga began many moons ago back in Dublin, Ireland where I attended regular classes. It wasn’t until 2009 in Nelson that I plucked up the courage to do my yoga teacher training and become a qualified yoga instructor. I have taught pre and post natal, children’s and Hatha yoga over the years in Nelson and Blenheim but settling on the dynamic flows of vinyasa these recent years and incorporating Yin and Meditation sessions into my weekly schedule.
For me, yoga has always been part of my life. For me, it is not just something I do on the mat. It is how I breathe, how I love, who I am.

Our daughter had yoga flowing through her veins right from the get go and it is an honour and a privilege for me to have her there with me - on the mat in class; on the mat at home and also, off the mat - in everything she does. It fills me with joy immeasurable to know I have passed this to her and when I see her roll out her mat each morning - my soul sings!
I want my classes to be a safe space for all. ‘We show up, we burn brightly, and when we are done - we let go’. We come to our mats as we are. Honest and true. The lighting is such that no one is on show. Everyone is encouraged to softly close their eyes, reflect inward, give themselves full permission to let go of everything else and just be. Flow with me, follow my direction - always being true to yourself and always listening to your own body. Always.

We warm up gently, using our breath and focusing in; we set intentions and then we flow. Every class is uniquely designed to build on strengths and encourage personal growth but never set in stone until I see who is there with me; then adapting as needed, making sure everyone’s needs are considered...then, off we go; flowing and adapting as the class progresses.

I close every class with a Yoga Nidra and a long Savasana before our final blessing and an intention card, leaving everyone rightly placed to head back into their world - ready, willing and able to shine bright.
Come join us, everyone is welcome…see you on the mat.
